The Happy New Year Tag

Happy New Year!

As clichéd as it sounds, I really can't believe that we're into 2015 already! Do you remember wondering what all the grown-ups were talking about when they would launch into the whole 'time is whizzing by so fast' spiel? Well it's a bit of a slap in the face when you realise you're now old enough to be one of them!

I had planned to do a detailed post on my round-up of 2014 resolutions, and an introduction to my 2015 ones today, but I read this tag on An Impatient Scottish Girl's blog and thought it would be a good way to combine a these with a little reflection on 2014, and a look forward to 2015.

1. Use 3 words to describe 2014
Lots of changes

2. Best thing to happen to you in 2014?
Definitely becoming a homeowner. My boyfriend and I bought our own little house at the beginning of December, and although it was one of the most stressful things I've ever been through, it has been so rewarding and I'm very, very proud of us :)

Other high points were finally standing up for myself and following the path I wanted to and our trip to Florida in May.

3. Worst thing to happen to you in 2014?
2014 started off pretty miserably to be honest. I was working somewhere I hated to the point where I would cry both on my way there and home everyday. To top it off, I was commuting 100 miles and three hours a day and it was causing major stress. Although I was content and happy in my personal life, the strain was starting to cause an impact and I decided enough was enough. When I look back now to last January, it feels like a totally different person, and I'm so glad I've managed to leave that behind.

4. Have you started anything new in 2014?
Dance in the Rain was born in 2014, although with all the changes that have been going on, posts have been few and far between! I plan to rectify this in 2015 though ;)

I also started two new jobs, and currently juggle both. I'm very lucky to have the best of both worlds.

5. What are your best beauty products of 2014?
Soap and Glory's Sugar Crush Body Buttercream is right up there at number one. This is the only moisturiser I've actually stuck to for more than a week before getting bored and leaving it lying in a drawer for ages. It's now firmly part of my daily routine and my skin has never felt better. Just yum, yum, yum!

Other favourites include Garnier Micellar Water, Batiste XXL Plumping Powder and the GlamGlow Supermud.

6. What has been your new favourite show of 2014?
I'll hold my hands up and say I'm usually very late to the bandwagon when it comes to TV shows (I've only just got into The Big Bang Theory and have no interest in Breaking Bad!) but I have been enjoying Gotham.

7. What was your favourite Book of 2014?
The Midwife's Confession by Diane Chamberlain. Absolutely jaw-dropping. I read the majority of it in a day because I just couldn't put it down and have recommended it to all of my friends.

8. What products are you looking forward to most in 2015?
Now that I'm not saving quite so strictly for the house, I can afford to loosen the purse-strings ever so slightly and start treating myself a little more, yay! I'm so looking forward to perusing the make-up aisles again for some inspiration!

9. What are you most looking forward to in 2015?

Having the house all sorted (it feels never ending at the moment!) and just being able to enjoy it.

I'm also looking forward to becoming more settled at work, and finding a balance between both jobs and my home-life, which I'm determined to make happen.

And, since we started the post of with a cliché, we may as well end with one: diet and exercise will be brought under control this year. Believe me, it has been a long time coming and I'm raring to go!

I hope you all had a fantastic night last night, and I give you all my best wishes for 2015 :)
